Sacrificing for the Kingdom
So much has changed since I last checked in! As most of you may know, Evangeleen and I had to return to the states. While my wife, Chitlada, and Preaw are with the kids in Thailand. Evangeleen and I, came to the states in the beginning of June, and I started working immediately to support our ministry in Thailand. Since we are living with my mom so 100% of the money I am making at work is going back to our ministry in Thailand.
The transition back to the states has been both challenging and rewarding. Being separated from my family has been tough, but knowing that our work in Thailand is continuing and making a difference, has kept me motivated. The distance has also given me a new perspective on our mission and the impact it has on the lives of those we serve.
Since returning to the states, I've been focusing on working, fundraising and spreading awareness about our ministry. I've had the opportunity to connect with individuals, churches, and organizations that are passionate about our cause. It's been heartwarming to see the support and enthusiasm that people have for the work we're doing overseas.
One of the highlights of my time in the states has been reconnecting with old friends and partners who have been involved with our ministry in the past. Their willingness to help and their excitement to see our work continue has been incredibly inspiring. We've also been able to forge new partnerships and collaborations that will undoubtedly strengthen our efforts in Thailand.
Trikafta, the drug that Evangeleen needs to live a fairly normal life was approved for her age in May. She has been on it for 2 years now, but we received our first “legal” box of it in July. She came with me so that she could get approved and do all of the tests necessary to get approved. We are super stoked to finally be getting it “legally”.
Although being away from my family has been difficult, technology has allowed us to stay connected despite the distance. As we patiently endure this time apart, I constantly think about Romans 12:12 to rejoice in hope and be constant in prayer. Regular video calls with Chitlada, Preaw, and the kids have helped bridge the gap and make the separation more bearable. Seeing their faces and hearing about their challenges reminds me why we're doing this work and reinforces my commitment to supporting them from afar.
As we move forward, our goal remains unchanged: to make a lasting and positive impact on the lives of the children and families we serve in Thailand and to make disciples out of the kids we minister to. Every dollar raised, every connection made, and every moment of sacrifice is contributing to that goal. Our whole family is filled with gratitude for the support we've received and the opportunities that lie ahead. Just as in Matthew 28:19-20, we are called to make disciples of all nations and teach them, knowing that God is with us always.
We are still lacking the support needed for us to return to Thailand. We are still trying to find people who are willing to support monthly. We are close to finding all of the support we need but, with $3000 needed monthly we need to find about 10 more people who are wiling to pledge $100 a month. If you're prayerfully considering donating and God has put it on your heart, as 2 Corinthians 9:7 encourages, please visit us here:
The challenges we face only fuel our determination to create a brighter future for those who depend on us. While the journey may have taken an unexpected turn, the path is clear, and our mission continues with unwavering resolve. Just as in Matthew 25:35-36, we strive to clothe the naked, care for the sick, and be a source of comfort to those in need and we won’t let anything stop our mission, even lack of funds! Because God won’t!
Ice, after graduating college has returned to help our mission for a few months and is much needed in my absence. We are trying to find a way to get her to the US, we would love for her to experience what having a church family in the US is like.
In closing, let's remember the words of Proverbs 19:17, that when we're generous to the poor, we're lending to the Lord, and He repays our deeds. The journey is not without challenges, but with faith, unity, and love, we can continue to shine a light in the lives of those we serve.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey—your support and prayers are what keep us going. Thank you for helping us continue to make a difference, no matter the distance that separates us physically. Together, we can bring hope, love, and positive change to the lives of those who need it the most and show them what the love of Jesus is!
